Lightbox for Pictures

So I have a lightbox effect for the pictures I post on this site.  When you click on a picture, it will show a bigger version of the picture in the middle of the screen and put a screen over the rest of the page.  Click the Joker to see it.

Pretty cool huh?  I use the plugin Lightbox 2 and haven’t had any problems.  If you’re using Wordpress I recommend it.

Just upload the “lightbox-2″ folder to your plugins folder (after you’ve downloaded it from Wordpress), then activate it through your site, then you’re ready to insert a picture!

Size, both pixel and bit, is important.  I try and make my pictures no more than 600 pixels tall or 800 pixels wide.  It will fit well on the webpage at that size.

To resize your picture, you can go to Resize Your Image, or for more advanced stuff try Pixenate.  Or just search for “online picture editor”.

After you insert a picture in your blogpost, click on it to edit it, select the “Advanced Settings” tab, and just put in “lightbox” in the “Link Rel” field under “Advanced Link Settings”.

Click the picture to see it :)

You can also put in a description that will show up with the picture by putting that in the “Title” field.

Hope you find this useful!
